Behind every accurate paycheck, timely report, successful audit, and compliant payroll process is a payroll professional who brings skill, dedication, and care to their work every day. Payroll professionals often work behind the scenes, but their impact is felt across every organization they support.
That is why the Virginia Statewide Payroll Conference proudly recognizes excellence through the 2026 VSPC Payroll Professional of the Year Award. Presented annually at the Annual Virginia Statewide Payroll Conference, this award honors outstanding service to the payroll community and celebrates a professional who stands out for their accomplishments, contributions, and leadership.
If someone comes to mind as you read this—someone with a strong work ethic, a commitment to outstanding customer service, and a passion for advancing the payroll profession—now is the perfect time to nominate them. Self-nominations are also welcome, including for those who serve as a one-person payroll department.
The nomination process is simple. You only need to submit the nomination. After that, the VSPC Payroll Professional of the Year Committee will contact the nominee to complete the application. Completed applications are then reviewed by an independent and impartial committee. Nominees will have the opportunity to share their achievements, awards, recognitions, and professional service, including examples of how they have supported local payroll organizations and helped advance the visibility of the payroll profession.
Nominations close Friday, July 24, 2026.
